CMT Technician PositionCerterra-Southern Engineering is hiring an experienced CMT (Construction Materials Testing) Technician for our facility in Raleigh, NC to perform testing of various construction materials on active construction sites to verify compliance with project documents.Preferred Certifications/Licenses: (any of the below)American Concrete Institute (ACI) Field Technician Level I CertificationNational Institute for Certification of Engineering Technologies (NICET) CMT Level I or higher (soils or concrete)International Code Council (ICC) Soils CertificationNCDOT Certifications (e.g., QMS Roadway Technician conventional density, ABC/borrow pit sampling)Essential Skills:Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills.Exhibit excellent organizational skills.Ability to work independently and/or within team environments.Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) diploma.Must hold and maintain a valid driver's license and be deemed insurable by the firm insurance carrierDuties and Responsibilities:Concrete/Grout/Mortar inspection and testing Monitoring for proper placement techniquesTesting for slump, air content, unit weight, temperatureMolding of compressive strength specimensCore drillingAsphalt Establishing test locationsChecking load temperatureVerifying property laydown and rolling practicesCore drilling for density/thickness specimenSoil/Aggregate testing Testing density/compactionObserving proof rollingVerifying proper moisture contentChecking bearing capacity for foundation supportExcavation quantification* Pay and staffing level commensurate with the number of years of experiences and active certificationsWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
