Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a high-acuity Med/Surg Tele position requiring strong telemetry background, Rapid Response experience, and a FL or compact RN license.

Details

• Work on a mixed high-acuity Med/Surg Tele, Cardiac Tele, and PCU unit within an acute care hospital
• 13-week assignment with day shift, 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
• 1:6 patient ratio required, though 1:5 ratio experience may be considered if clearly noted
• Every other weekend requirement
• Floating required within scope of practice
• Block scheduling is not permitted
• Mandatory clinical orientation week requiring 5 shifts (36-40 hours)
• Uses Meditech charting system

Requirements

• Active FL or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty required
• Strong telemetry experience required
• Rapid Response team experience required
• Total joint replacement experience required
• 1:6 patient ratio experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and IV therapy required
• Experience with central line, peripheral line, and PICC line care/management
• Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP management and oxygen administration

Additional Information

• Provide care for a high-acuity mixed patient population including cardiac tele, PCU/stepdown, and general med/surg tele cases
• Must reside more than 30 miles from the facility to qualify for travel positioning
• No remote time off (RTO) permitted during the first or last week of the assignment
• Holiday coverage required: 1 evening and 1 holiday shift if 1-2 holidays fall within the assignment, or 1 evening and 2 holiday shifts if 3 holidays fall within the assignment
• Scrub color is not restricted
• Free parking available in any unrestricted space
• Schedule changes may be made up to 48 hours in advance of a shift
• Plan for approximately 4 hours to complete required training modules prior to start date
• Skills in wound care, isolation precautions/PPE, and surgical drain management utilized
• Experience with substance withdrawal and CVA/seizure disorder patient care beneficial
