Position Summary:

Receives and logs all incoming calls to the housekeeping communication desk. Distributes all information to appropriate people via radio, telephone, pager. Opens the department and assigns the work load to room cleaners and house attendants per department procedures. Receives all lost and found articles, logs them, labels them and delivers to the housekeepers office. Receives and documents all lost and found inquiries. Investigates losses and notifies housekeeper of items to be recovered.

Essential Functions:

• Calculates incentives for room cleaners
• Records and monitors linen receipts
• Ensures all invoices are recorded and sent to accounting daily with justification for variation
• Writes work orders from inspector's papers
• Ensure that the inventory of guest rooms is updated and meets deadlines for new arrivals and guest expectations
• Monitors status of rooms during the course of the day
• Identifies problem areas in guest rooms status on a timely basis
• Notifies inspectors and housekeepers of checkouts, guest requests for service and maintenance issues as well as any change in the condition of status of guest room
• Notifies inspectors whenever a room is ready for inspection
• Overlap all duties with the inventory issue clerk
• Ensure new hires are assigned a rack number for uniform
• Maintain and encourage a positive energy flow amongst the housekeeping staff
• Ensure all valet services are documented and returned on a timely basis and prepared for posting
• Issue uniforms as required
• Receive and sign for goods as required
• Prepare nametags as required per department procedures
• Any other duties as assigned

Education, Experience, and Skills Required:

• Basic computer knowledge
• Excellent telephone skills
• Ability to work with numbers and calculations efficiently
• Well organized
• Ability to follow directions
• Excellent communication skills
• Spanish speaking skills a plus
