Account Coordinator We're looking for an Account Coordinator to join our growing Chicago team to work with several clients in our consumer and channels practices. This isn't your average AC role. At SHIFT, our ACs are involved in all aspects of client analysis, planning, execution and reporting. Your team will rely on you to bring your A game to work every day, and actively contribute to the research, strategy, creative and omnichannel media initiatives we deliver day-in and day-out. You've had an internship or two and you're beyond ready to take your game to the next level. You're organized, proactive and thrive in fast-paced environments. You're also curious, a news hound, in the know on influencers and a follower of pop culture and a social media pro. What You'll Do Be the eyes and ears of the team to track breaking news, issues and trends relevant to your clients in the media and across all social media. Make informed recommendations on opportunities to help clients shine in the media, on social media or both. Keep your team's wheels on track. Act as a logistical quarterback to make sure things happen when and where we need them to happen. Be on point to create all client reports and attend client events as needed. Research and maintain accurate databases on targeted shows, speaking venues, and awards programs. Write killer submissions that help our clients shine. Writing — from media alerts, to pitches to social content. Prepare briefing materials for and actively participate in team brainstorming. Keep the foundational materials (narrative, messaging, etc.) current for each of your clients. Learn the fundamentals of earned media pitching and begin to engage the press on behalf of your clients. What You Bring Some internship experience — preferably in an agency environment — tech experience a plus Ridiculously strong oral, written and interpersonal communications. An insatiable curiosity combined with an innate ability to think critically that translates into creativity, founded in strategy, that you can apply to our programming day in and day out. The self-discipline to take direction, focus on tasks and deliver on commitments. A genuine thirst for learning, self-improvement and personal growth. Both will help you prepare client-ready work more quickly as requested. Know what’s going on. Read/watch/listen to and then analyze and report the news that’s important to you and your clients; provide recommendations for actions that the client can/should take as a result. Get and stay up to speed on the market, competitive and internal business dynamics shaping the worlds and impacting the decisions of the clients to which you’re assigned. Ask questions of those around you/ attend proscribed training programs to understand how we budget, how we manage projects, how we develop and nurture client relationships and how we measure our own success as an agency.
