Director of Development, School of Theology

Job Title: Director of Development, School of Theology Department: University Advancement Location: Atlanta, GA. Additional locations: (Other locations that this position could be based) Responsibilities Independently coordinate fundraising and alumni relations events and activities to foster a continuing relationship between the James and Carolyn McAfee School of Theology and its alumni and friends. Encourage alumni/friends to give to the School/University through time, service, and monetary gifts. Ensure the School’s annual fund goals and campaign goals are met each fiscal year. Plan and orchestrate the academic unit’s major alumni events successfully. Assist and facilitate communication between alumni/friends and the School, and between the academic programs and the University. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university required. Minimum of two years of experience in direct sales, business development, or related activities where relationship building is essential. Master’s degree in Theology, Theological Studies, or MDIV highly desirable. Valid driver’s license and insurability by the university’s carrier required due to travel. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Clear and effective communication skills to build relationships. Planning and organization skills for meetings and events to engage alumni and friends. Writing and editing proposals, letters, and articles for soliciting gifts and providing information to constituents. Basic knowledge of work processing and spreadsheet applications for analysis and report preparation. Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends. Ability to multi-task and achieve goals in a timely manner. Background Check Contingencies Criminal history. Approved Driver's Check.
