Inspector

Position Summary Performs diversified inspection work using engineering drawings, process specifications, material certificates, test reports, and customer documents to check or verify purchased parts. Creates first article inspection (FAI) using AS9102 form for parts manufactured in-house, assemblies, sub‑assemblies, and final deliverable units. Able to perform complex part inspections with CMM and standard inspection gauges. Requires ability to interpret drawings, create Non‑conforming Reports (NCR), and daily scan quality certificates into the EPICOR system. Capable of training and becoming a FAA ODA unit member. Responsibilities Perform general inspection work in various basic areas. Conduct receiving inspection. Create first article inspection (FAI) using AS9102 form. Perform in‑process inspection across multiple product lines. Conduct final and shipping inspection. Maintain backup equipment/tools and ensure calibration is kept. Follow direction from inspection lead for work assignments. Familiar with all applicable inspection procedures and related work instructions; recommend improvements when applicable. Measure parts to verify accuracy of dimensions using standard or special CMM measuring equipment. Test units for specification conformance with measuring test equipment as required. Stamp or otherwise approve acceptable parts and prepare necessary paperwork. Generate Non‑conforming Material Reports (NCR) that describe unacceptable parts, determine responsibility for errors, and initiate NCR for disposition. Work from engineering drawings, process specifications, customer drawings, and test procedures. Maintain all required inspection records as per procedures. Perform other duties assigned. Work in an ITAR facility. Qualifications Good communication skills, both written and verbal. \l Experience with mechanical and/or electrical inspection techniques. Ability to use precision measuring equipment such as micrometer, calipers, pin gauges, rulers, hardness tester, Romer arm, CMM, levels, and radius gauges. Minimum of two years performing inspection functions, machinist or technician experience preferred. High school graduate; competence in tolerancing. Experience working in a calibration department. Must be U.S. Citizenship or permanent resident. Must be able to work at an ITAR facility. Compensation $27–$29 per hour (DOE); 6:00AM start time plus overtime (10hours M‑F and 2 Saturdays per month). Physical Demands and Work Environment Physical demands: Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with arms and hands, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk or hear, and lift or move up to 35lbs. Work environment: Exposed to weather conditions at the time and to a climate‑controlled office environment; factory floor located in same building as the office; moderate noise level.
