MLT Assistant

Position PRN Medical Lab Assistant at Saint Luke's Hospital of Kansas City. Employment Details Full Time, Evening shift: 2:00pm–10:30pm. CLIA‑certified laboratory setting. Responsibilities Perform moderate or waived complexity laboratory testing in accordance with laboratory policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. Assess and, when competent, perform identified highly complex procedures. Ensure accuracy, timely reporting, and integrity of laboratory results. Maintain instrumentation and confirm acceptable performance. Organize and prioritize technical tasks efficiently and with minimal waste. Perform preventive maintenance of equipment and instrumentation within procedural guidelines and under the direction of a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT). Report waived and moderate complexity results in the Hospital LIS/EMR as ordered by providers, under the direction and review of an MLS or MLT. Review and approve quality control results to affirm validity of patient results. Consult with an MLS or MLT for technical or instrumental issues that affect accurate testing. Qualifications Less than 1 year of applicable experience in a medical laboratory environment. Bachelor's degree in Science.
