Quality Technician

Quality TechnicianThe Quality Technician ensures that incoming materials, in-process assemblies, and final products meet customer specifications, internal quality standards, and manufacturing requirements. This role performs detailed inspections, maintains accurate quality documentation, and supports continuous improvement initiatives by investigating issues, identifying root causes, and driving corrective and preventive actions. The Quality Technician collaborates closely with production, engineering, and other cross-functional teams to develop and enforce robust quality control procedures and promote best practices on the shop floor.ResponsibilitiesConduct incoming inspections of materials and components to verify compliance with customer specifications, quality standards, and manufacturing requirements.Perform in-process inspections during production to ensure assemblies, sub-assemblies, and PCBs meet defined quality and mechanical criteria.Carry out final product inspections, including visual inspection and dimensional checks, to confirm products meet all requirements prior to shipment.Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) and validate materials, components, and production builds before release and shipment.Use inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, gages, microscopes, and other measuring equipment to perform accurate quality checks.Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and related documentation to determine inspection requirements and acceptance criteria.Maintain and update quality documentation, including inspection records, traceability logs, quality reports, and compliance documentation.Investigate quality issues and nonconformances, perform root cause analysis, and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to reduce defects and rework.Develop, document, and enforce quality control procedures, inspection checklists, and production quality standards.Train and guide team members on quality inspection methods, proper use of inspection equipment, and best practices in quality assurance.Collaborate with production, assembly, and other cross-functional teams to address quality concerns and improve manufacturing processes.Utilize systems such as SAP or similar tools to record inspection results, manage quality data, and support traceability.Support process auditing activities to verify adherence to established quality procedures and standards.Monitor quality trends and provide feedback to help drive continuous improvement in production and assembly operations.Essential SkillsHands-on experience performing incoming, in-process, and final product inspections in a manufacturing environment.Strong knowledge of manufacturing Quality Control and Quality Assurance (QA/QC) practices.Proficiency in First Article Inspection (FAI) processes and documentation.Ability to perform detailed visual inspection of parts, assemblies, sub-assemblies, and PCBs.Skill in using inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, gages, and microscopes for dimensional and mechanical measurements.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine inspection requirements.Experience conducting root cause analysis and supporting Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).Competence in maintaining accurate quality documentation, inspection records, traceability logs, and compliance reports.Familiarity with production, assembly, and sub-assembly processes in a manufacturing setting.Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to quality inspection and documentation.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment, moving between warehouse and office areas as needed.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with process auditing and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.Familiarity with SAP or similar enterprise systems for recording inspection results and managing quality data.Experience working with Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical documentation.Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and other support functions.Strong communication skills for training team members on quality procedures and best practices.Comfort working with mechanical components, assemblies, and PCBs in a production environment.Why Work Here?This opportunity offers the chance to join a stable manufacturing organization that values quality, continuous improvement, and collaboration across teams. You will regularly move throughout the warehouse to perform inspections at various stages of production, as well as work in the office to complete documentation and use systems such as SAP. The position involves working around production and assembly operations, inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gages, and microscopes, and handling mechanical components, sub-assemblies, and PCBs. Dress should be appropriate for a manufacturing warehouse setting while still suitable for occasional office-based tasks.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Arlington, TX.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
