Job description: Quality Control Technician
Reports to: FSQA Manager
Job Summary: Performs inspections, tests incoming materials, monitors traceability.
Job responsibilities (including but not limited to):

1. Inspects equipment’s cleanliness
2. Monitors and records rooms temperature and humidity.
3. Collects samples and do moisture and water activity test of in-coming material and in-house products.
4. Performs pathogen testing of all incoming material and some in-house products when needed.
5. Performs weekly GMP inspections.
6. Monitors all critical control points and cooking processes daily.
7. Monitors metal detectors and packaging processes every 2 hours.
8. Monitors high risk temperature-humidity controlled rooms such as coolers and drying rooms daily.
9. Verifies traceability forms are filled out daily and enters traceability forms data in traceability logs.
10. Verifies HACCP logs are filled out daily and match traceability forms for every daily production batch.
11. Inspects customer returns for proper disposition or storage and record findings in the return log.
12. Performs and records packaging validation for every product lot run throughout the production day.
13. Inspects equipment cleanliness at the end of every shift and during changeovers. This includes performing ATP test daily on food contact surfaces and Allergen test on equipment/tools used for production when required.
14. Keeps control and restricted access of all locked chemical rooms and cages and prepares daily chemicals used for cleaning production equipment and floors.
15. Records and reports stock levels of chemicals and test kits/swabs to the Quality Assurance Manager.
16. Assists sending product samples to third party lab.
17. Performs chemical storage inspections monthly.
18. Performs pest control inspection monthly.
19. Performs verification/calibration of scales once a week.
20. Performs environmental testing monthly.
21. Works along with the janitor to keep all footbaths in the facility filled up with sanitizer.
22. Acts as food safety monitor and performs monthly facility inspections when assigned (food safety team member). 
23. Acts as food defense monitor and performs monthly food defense patrol when assigned (food defense team member).
24. Keeps the lab clean throughout the day after performing moisture and water activity testing and ensures the lab is clean by the end of the day.
25. Performs designated tasks assigned by the FSQA Manager.
26. Other Duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB:

• Highschool Diploma or GED
• Minimum 1 year working in the food manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and other related food safety procedures a plus
• Must be flexible to work longer days if necessary
• Perform other tasks as may be assigned.

KEY COMPETENCIES:

• Quality Control Experience (at least 1 year) or Manufacturing in Food Industry (1 year)
• Superior communication skills verbal and written English.
• Computer skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
• Exceptional knowledge of HACCP, GMP, SQF, OSHA a plus

SHIFT: 6AM-4:30PM MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY (with potential Overtime)
Compensation: $18-19 per hour
