The Boom Truck/Material Placement Operator plays a critical role in safely and efficiently operating boom trucks to lift, move, and position heavy materials and equipment at various job sites across the United States. This position requires precision and attention to detail to ensure that loads are handled securely and that all operations comply with safety regulations and company policies. The operator will collaborate closely with site supervisors, riggers, and other team members to coordinate lifting tasks and maintain smooth workflow. Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements as required by state regulations.
• Proven experience operating boom trucks or similar heavy lifting equipment in a construction or industrial setting.
• Strong knowledge of safety protocols and OSHA regulations related to crane and boom truck operations.
• Ability to read and interpret load charts, blueprints, and rigging plans.
• Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, climbing, and working in various weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Certification from a recognized crane operator training program or association (e.g., NCCCO).
• Experience with multiple types of boom trucks and cranes.
• Basic mechanical skills for troubleshooting and performing minor repairs on equipment.
• Familiarity with GPS and other modern positioning technologies used in lifting operations.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to effectively collaborate with diverse crews on site.

Responsibilities:

• Operate boom trucks to lift, transport, and position heavy materials and equipment according to project specifications and safety standards.
• Conduct pre-operation inspections of the boom truck, including checking hydraulic systems, tires, brakes, and safety devices to ensure equipment is in safe working condition.
• Coordinate with site personnel to plan lifts, assess load weights, and determine appropriate rigging and lifting techniques.
• Maintain clear communication with ground crew and supervisors during lifting operations to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on the boom truck to prevent downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
• Adhere strictly to OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and industry best practices to minimize risk and maintain a safe work environment.
• Document daily activities, inspections, and any incidents or equipment issues accurately and promptly.
