Step into a rewarding contract opportunity providing in-person physical therapy services within a supportive school environment starting the 2026-2027 academic year. This full-time (with part-time options considered) position involves working across multiple schools, supporting students from elementary up through transition programs.
Your week will involve approximately 37.5 hours, scheduled Monday through Friday, with starting times varying depending on school location (typically between 7:30 and 8:30am). You’ll manage a caseload of around 35-45 students, delivering a blend of direct and consultative PT minutes for children in both self-contained and general education settings.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (MPT or DPT)
- Current Illinois Physical Therapy License
- Previous experience in school-based settings preferred
- Comfort with travel between several schools during the school day
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with staff and families
What You’ll Do:
- Conduct student evaluations and create detailed treatment plans
- Provide physical therapy treatments and interventions
- Assess, recommend, and provide training for mobility and positioning equipment
- Collaborate with educational teams, including teachers, paraprofessionals, therapists, and nurses
- Produce timely and accurate documentation, including daily notes, progress reports, goal setting, and updates
- Help foster student independence and maximize their participation within school activities
