Job Responsibilities for Trailer Mechanic:

• Perform work as outlined on repair estimates with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with dealership and factory standards
• The ability to identify and fix mechanical and electrical issues.
• Service and inspect trailer bodies and systems; such as brakes, suspension, and hydraulics.
• Replace or repair damaged or worn parts; such as tires, hubs and axles.
• Perform routine maintenance; such as oil changes and tire rotations.
• Complete repair order and related paperwork.
• Operating and cleaning equipment and tools.
• Perform welding and fabrication work as needed.
• Maintain a neat, orderly, and safe work environment, and handle company tools properly
• Follow safe work practices and procedures, use safety equipment when required, responds to suggestions for working safely and seeks assistance when necessary
• Other projects/initiatives as assigned

Required Skills for Trailer Mechanic:

• Positive attitude, motivated with mechanical aptitude
• Prefer 1-2 years minimum work experience as a Trailer Technician
• Valid driver's license
• Must have, or be able to develop through training, a detailed knowledge of commercial trailer and body shop repair
• Successful completion of appropriate welding and fabrication certificate programs, or equivalent hands-on experience preferred
• Must possess a full set of personal hand tools
• Able to use a personal computer and basic applications
• Minimum of High School Diploma/ GED, Vocational or Technical certification in vehicle repair is preferred
