Director, Intellectual Property
Tango Therapeutics
Tango Therapeutics seeks a Director of Intellectual Property to lead the company's IP function across drug development stages. Reporting to the General Counsel, the role involves developing IP strategy, managing patent portfolios, counseling internal teams, and supporting business development transactions in oncology.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement comprehensive IP strategies aligned with R&D and business objectives
- Oversee global patent portfolio including freedom-to-operate analyses and patentability assessments
- Provide IP counsel to internal teams across chemistry, CMC, and development functions
- Support Business Development with IP aspects of licensing, transactional, and strategic agreements
- Manage patent application preparation, prosecution docket, and post-grant practices
Requirements
- J.D. from accredited law school and admitted to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- 8-10 years legal experience at top-tier law firm and/or biotech company
- Early-stage pharmaceutical or biotech in-house experience strongly preferred
- Global IP strategy development experience required
- Patent drafting, prosecution, and freedom-to-operate analysis expertise
- Licensing and technology transaction experience preferred
