Travel Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer - Sonography/Ultrasound

American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist/Sonographer with at least 2 years of experience and ARDMS certification for a general ultrasound role in a community hospital setting.

General/Cardiology Ultrasound Tech role in a community hospital setting

Day shift schedule of 4x10 hour shifts, variable start times of 6:30 AM or 11:00 AM

Opportunity for on-call during night shift

Performs OB/GYN studies including 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimester exams, amniotic fluid index, and fetal anatomical survey

Performs general ultrasound studies including abdominal aorta, appendix, breast, gallbladder, liver, pancreas, pediatric abdomen/pelvis, and spleen

Performs renal/pelvis studies including bladder, hernia, ovaries, prostate, renal/bladder, uterus, and vaginal ultrasound

Performs small parts imaging including breast cyst aspiration, breast ultrasound, superficial masses, testicles/scrotum, and thyroid

Performs vascular studies including carotid, doppler studies, upper/lower extremity arterial and venous, M-mode, peripheral vascular resistance, and renal artery duplex

Works in adult and emergency department settings, including portable exams

Uses GE ultrasound equipment and PACS system

May perform neonatal head and heart imaging

Assists with procedures such as paracentesis, thoracentesis, and ultrasound guided biopsy/fine needle aspiration

Outpatient setting experience with biopsies and Trophon disinfection system

Epic EMR experience preferred

Minimum of 2 years of experience required

ARDMS certification in at least one category required

ARRT-R certification preferred

BLS certification required

RVT certification preferred

Compact state license required in hand at time of submission, if applicable

Community hospital experience required

Trauma Level I experience preferred

Epic EMR experience preferred

2 professional references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required

Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)

All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during the application process

May be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location

First-time travelers not considered for this position

Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate

Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel pay rate

Former permanent staff may return as a traveler after a 3-month waiting period, provided they live more than 50 miles from the facility
