Job Overview This role is a Scientist, Oligonucleotide Discovery Analytical Chemistry at GSK. The position focuses on developing, executing, and optimizing analytical methods for synthetic oligonucleotide therapeutics to support the pre‑clinical pipeline. Key Responsibilities Operate and execute validated analytical methods in high‑throughput oligonucleotide production platforms. Develop and deploy robust analytical methods for in‑house oligonucleotide synthesis, including novel chemistries and conjugates. Fully characterize novel synthetic oligonucleotides using advanced technologies in low‑ and high‑throughput settings. Represent Oligonucleotide Discovery Analytical Chemistry on cross‑functional project teams, collaborating internally and externally. Conduct analytical investigations and root‑cause analysis in collaboration with cross‑functional teams. Required Qualifications BS degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or an MS degree with a minimum of 4 years, in analytical chemistry or a related discipline (or equivalent). At least 1 year experience using LC/MS(-MS) methodology in a biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or academic setting. At least 1 year experience performing mass spectrometry data analysis. Demonstrable exposure to LC/MS(-MS) method development and troubleshooting. Preferred Qualifications Professional experience with oligonucleotide therapeutics. Experience with high‑resolution LC/MS(-MS) data acquisition and analysis. Experience with high‑throughput LC/MS(-MS) methodology. Experience with reverse phase/ion-pairing, anion exchange, size‑exclusion, and/or hydrophilic interaction chromatography. Experience with other analytical techniques such as NMR, X‑ray crystallography, UV/Vis spectrophotometry, or circular dichroism. Exposure to other aspects of drug discovery and development (e.g., in‑vitro biology, bioanalysis, DMPK, delivery). Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills, with familiarity in cross‑functional matrix project teams. Compensation & Benefits US salary ranges from $83,325 to $138,875, varying by location. Annual bonus and share‑based long‑term incentive program eligibility.
