Lead CNC Machinist

This role is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating both CNC press brake equipment and CNC laser cutting machines to produce precise, high-quality metal components. The operator interprets detailed blueprints, performs full machine changeovers, and ensures accurate first-article production across forming and cutting operations. They maintain safe work practices, troubleshoot equipment issues, and uphold strict quality and efficiency standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to manage both machines independently are essential.

Responsibilities

• Set up, program, and operate CNC press brake equipment and CNC laser cutting machines.
• Interpret detailed blueprints for precise metal component production.
• Perform full machine changeovers and ensure accurate first-article production.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and uphold safety standards.
• Maintain high quality and efficiency standards in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in laser cutting and CNC programming.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and perform inspections.
• Skilled in troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in laser/brake press operations.
• Experience in sheet metal, mechanical, and electrical domains.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Familiarity with metal fabrication processes including press brakes, saws, and weld stations.
• Ability to identify common metal types and thicknesses.
• Understanding of warehouse organization and inventory management.
• Knowledge of sheet metal types, bend allowances, and tooling selection.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Arlington, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
