Real Estate Leasing Partner / Senior Counsel

Our client, a highly regarded boutique law firm in New York City, is seeking a Real Estate Partner or senior‑level attorney with a focus on commercial leasing to join and help expand its growing real estate practice. This opportunity is well‑suited for a sophisticated practitioner looking for an entrepreneurial platform, meaningful client access, and the ability to play a visible role in shaping a dynamic practice.
The firm is particularly interested in candidates with experience representing landlords, tenants, developers, and investors across a broad range of commercial leasing and real‑estate transactions, with an emphasis on office, retail, and mixed‑use assets.
Representative Areas of Practice:
- Commercial office, retail, and industrial leasing (landlord and tenant‑side)
- Drafting and negotiating complex lease agreements and related documentation
- Portfolio leasing and asset management support
- Ground leases and long‑term development leases
- Lease restructuring, renewals, and workouts
- Acquisitions and dispositions with leasing components
- Advising clients on leasing strategy, risk allocation, and market positioning
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Significant real estate and leasing experience gained at a respected law firm
- Demonstrated ability to originate, maintain, or expand client relationships
- A portable book of business is preferred, but not required
- Candidates with a smaller or developing book who are looking to grow their practice are strongly encouraged to apply
- Strong technical skills in commercial leasing and related real‑estate transactions
- Entrepreneurial mindset with an interest in building and expanding a practice
- Desire for a more nimble, collaborative, and client‑facing platform than traditional large firm environments
- Admission to the New York Bar is required
