Property Accountant

Senior Property Accountant Location: Birmingham, AL (Onsite) Our client is hiring a Sr Property Accountant with a tax focus to their corporate team. The property accountant is responsible for accounting and financial reporting of a portfolio of real estate assets. This role manages month-end close, prepares financial statements, performs reconciliations, and partners with property management teams to ensure accurate financial reporting. Job Responsibilities You will own the financial performance and reporting for an assigned portfolio of properties from transaction processing through financial statement delivery Perform month end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations. Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure compliance with GAAP. Prepare and maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations with complete and audit-ready support documentation. Oversee the monthly close process, including the preparation and review of financial results, analysis of key variances, and timely reporting. Monitor cash activity and support cash flow management through coordination with operations and AP teams. Working alongside internal teams on tax-related questions tied to specific projects Ideal Profile 4 years of related experience, preferably in public accounting or real estate accounting.
