RN Clinical Nurse II (Per Diem) - Urgent Care Raleigh

UNC Health seeks a Clinical Nurse to provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards and to coordinate and deliver patient care using the nursing process in a hospital setting. The role reports to the Nurse Manager/Director and is accountable for patient care activities. Responsibilities Education – Identifies and meets personal learning needs; attends education programs; utilizes patient education materials; assesses readiness to learn and developmental level of patients and families. Evaluation of Care – Identifies expected patient outcomes; seeks guidance on care plan revision; participates in interdisciplinary discussions; communicates information to promote continuity of care. Implementation – Demonstrates competence in caring for patients with complex problems; performs bedside point‑of‑care testing; follows organizational policies and procedures; prioritizes care; consults resources for complex cases and high‑risk discharge planning. Leadership – Develops professional growth goals; collaborates on unit goals and performance improvement; promotes cost‑effective care; gives feedback; ensures a safe, clean, secure environment; stays informed on public policy and regulatory guidelines. Patient Assessment – Recognizes complex data to set priorities; addresses physical, psychosocial, educational and safety needs; synthesizes assessment data for communication; anticipates discharge needs and builds supportive relationships with families. Planning – Collaborates with patient/family to develop or update care plans; utilizes multidisciplinary resources; communicates effectively; identifies cultural and ethnic considerations; prioritizes tasks for complex problems. Research – Reads relevant journals; brings applicable ideas and questions to staff for discussion. Qualifications Education Requirements: Graduation from a school of professional nursing. Licensure/Certification Requirements: Registered Nurse license in North Carolina; Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification. Professional Experience Requirements: One (1) year of relevant and current experience.
