Ascension Global Staffing & Executive Search is representing a premier South Florida maritime defense law firm seeking an experienced Senior Associate – Maritime / Insurance Defense Attorney to join its highly respected practice.

This is an excellent opportunity for a 4–7 year civil litigation attorney looking to advance their career in a collaborative, high-caliber environment while working alongside leading practitioners in admiralty, maritime, and insurance defense law.

Practice Overview

The firm’s practice includes comprehensive representation in admiralty and maritime matters, including:

• Civil trial practice
• Insurance defense litigation
• Admiralty and maritime matters
• Arbitration
• Appeals in state and federal courts
• Representation of major Fortune 500 companies and global industry leaders

Ideal Candidate Profile

• 4 + years of civil litigation experience
• Insurance defense experience preferred
• Maritime/admiralty law experience highly desired
• Member of the Florida Bar in good standing
• Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
• Excellent academic credentials
• Demonstrated ability to manage cases and assume increasing responsibility
• Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail and deadlines
• Client-first mindset with a commitment to exceptional service
• Ambitious, motivated, and interested in long-term career growth

Senior Associate Responsibilities

• Manage and assist with all phases of complex civil, insurance defense, and maritime litigation
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, memoranda, and other legal documents
• Participate in discovery, depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation
• Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and other stakeholders
• Assist with case strategy and develop litigation plans
• Handle multiple matters while maintaining strong organization and attention to deadlines
• Work closely with senior attorneys and partners while developing independent case-management skills
• Take on increasing responsibility as experience and knowledge of the firm’s practice areas develop

Work Structure

• Hybrid schedule: 3 days in the office / 2 days remote
• Hybrid schedule begins after an initial 60-day fully in-office acclimation period
• The initial in-office period is designed to provide attorneys with the opportunity to become fully familiar with the firm’s cases, processes, systems, culture, and protocols before transitioning to the hybrid schedule
