The team at Margaritaville Lake Resort is here to create and deliver fun and escapism for our guests, and that continues into our Banquet events, for groups of all sizes. With good pay, extensive benefits and a family atmosphere, we are seeking a strong leader to steer the team of each banquet function towards a seamless and professional service.

Job Type: Full Time

Pay $17.00 per hour

Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age Reports to: Director of Catering Operations, Banquet Department

As the Captain, you will oversee the successful delivery of each banquet function, ensuring team members are completing all their tasks in a timely and professional manner and communicating with management and event planners as needed.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide guests with the finest quality of service at all times and in a warm, enthusiastic and friendly manner.
• Continuously monitor the guest's service level and comfort at all times.
• Have a comprehensive knowledge of all menu items, specials, beverages, wines.
• Serve all items utilizing appropriate china, glassware, silverware, garnish, and condiments.
• Take ownership of all guest compliments or complaints and relay same to management.
• Meet with function group leader to determine last minute changes and discuss various setup arrangements.
• Ensure proper cleaning of all equipment after function is completed.
• Supervise assigned banquet team members throughout functions.
• Assist staff with room set-ups, food service, and clean up when necessary.
• Maintain Driftwood and hotel standards of food, beverage, and quality guest service.
• Ensure guest satisfaction by delivering an exceptional product.
• Must have a departmental radio system with ear-piece at all times.
• Attend required meetings.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Must have comprehensive knowledge of the English language to effectively communicate with guests, associates, and vendors.
• Projects and assignments are completed thoroughly, professionally, and with care.
• Adjusts to high-pressure conditions and is open to change.
• Assumes responsibility for personal growth and development.
• Conducts him/herself, acts and dresses professionally at all times.
• Understands and communicates the Margaritaville Lake Resort Mission
• Expresses ideas and conveys information clearly, effectively, and professionally.
• Actively listens to others.
• Conveys company information, decision, or problems to appropriate parties on a timely basis.
• Works to resolve disagreements and is respectful of peers and co-workers.
• Relevant experience of banquet functions and/ or supervisory experience is required.
• A basic understanding of and ability to speak Spanish is useful but is not a requirement.

Physical Requirements

• Minimum lifting and/or pulling of 40 pounds using proper lifting techniques
• Pushing, bending, stooping, upward reaching, manual dexterity
• If weight exceeds 40 pounds, asking for assistance is required
• Reading hearing, writing
