Novelty Express is a leading provider of novelty and impulse items for convenience stores, truck stops, travel centers, and other retail outlets. It is a division of M.R. Williams, Inc., serving customers via a DSD model. WilFoods, LLC, our sister company, offers a comprehensive selection of proprietary grab-n-go products, with custom label availability. We operate state-of-the-art facilities, handle all the staffing and regulatory requirements, and more. Our products are available for distribution to various industries, including convenience stores, schools, prisons, office parks, and more. Position Summary The Area Operations Manager role is designed to oversee specific areas in the warehouse. They are to focus on developing talent, enhancing time management and organizational skills, and fostering a safety-first culture. In addition, they are to assume and fill the role of Operations Manager in their absence. Responsibilities Strategically manage area in compliance with company’s policies and vision Oversee assigned area operations Setup layout and ensure efficient space utilization Initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security Manage stock control and reconcile with data storage system Plan work rotations, assign tasks appropriately and appraise results Recruit, select, orient, coach and motivate employees Produce reports and statistics regularly (IN/OUT status report, dead stock report etc.) Receive feedback and monitor the quality of services provided Other duties as assigned by management. Education, Experience And Skills Required High school diploma or G.E.D and 2+ years management experience Walk / stand for 8 or more hours daily Verse in warehouse management procedures and best practices Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives Hands on experience with warehouse management software and databases Leadership skills and ability manage staff Strong decision making and problem-solving skills Excellent communication skills Physical Requirements, Working Conditions, And Travel Requirements Physical Requirements Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds. Must be able to push up to 25 pounds. Must be able to pull up to 35 pounds. Sitting for long periods, general bending and twisting are associated with lifting.
