Professional Summary
Abacus Staffing Experienced Yard Jockey and Forklift Operator with expertise in safely moving trailers, containers, and commodities within warehouse and yard environments. Skilled in operating yard trucks, forklifts, and material-handling equipment to support shipping, receiving, and inventory operations. Committed to maintaining safety standards, productivity goals, and efficient logistics operations in fast-paced port and warehouse settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate yard trucks to move and position trailers, containers, and equipment throughout the facility.
- Perform trailer spotting, docking, and staging for loading and unloading operations.
- Safely operate sit-down forklifts to load, unload, stack, and transport materials.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on yard trucks and forklifts.
- Verify cargo, shipment documentation, and trailer numbers for accuracy.
- Coordinate with warehouse personnel, dispatchers, and supervisors to ensure timely movement of freight.
- Maintain safe traffic flow and organization within the yard and warehouse.
- Follow OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Assist with inventory control, shipping, receiving, and warehouse housekeeping as needed.
- Report equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, and operational issues promptly.

Qualifications
- Experience operating yard trucks, hostlers, or terminal tractors.
- Forklift certification and warehouse experience preferred.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety practices.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor as required.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Operated yard trucks and forklifts to move trailers, containers, and commodities safely throughout the facility.
- Performed trailer spotting and dock assignments to support efficient loading and unloading operations.
- Conducted daily equipment inspections and maintained compliance with safety regulations.
- Assisted with shipping, receiving, inventory management, and warehouse operations.
- Coordinated with warehouse personnel to ensure accurate and timely freight movement.
- Maintained a clean, organized, and safe work environment while meeting productivity goals.
