Senior Buyer

About the Role NeilMed Pharmaceuticals is looking for a Senior Buyer to own purchasing operations across inventory, supplies, and vendor relationships. You'll be the person who keeps materials flowing, costs in check, and vendor relationships strong — working closely with Production, Quality, and leadership to make sure the right materials arrive at the right time, at the right price. Responsibilities Monitor inventory levels, forecast order requirements, and maintain accurate records including regular reporting to flag what needs to be reordered. Prepare, review, and approve purchase orders, tracking them from placement through delivery confirmation to keep production on schedule. Manage day-to-day vendor communication, negotiate pricing and terms, and build long-term supplier relationships grounded in strong ethical standards. Research and compare vendors, products, and pricing, including component pricing trends and market conditions, to make sure NeilMed gets the best combination of cost, quality, and service. Maintain vendor files and required documentation (W-9s, COIs, and similar), and keep the Safety Data Sheets manual current. Develop and execute purchasing strategies that improve efficiency and reduce cost across the department. Coordinate with internal departments to align on specs, timelines, and approvals so vendor deliverables meet requirements without delays. Support physical inventory counts and help identify and resolve slow-moving or obsolete stock. Partner with your supervisor on buying-trend data and reporting. Pitch in on general purchasing department administration — data entry, basic accounting support, and related tasks. Take on other purchasing and inventory responsibilities as needed. Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree, or equivalent hands‑on purchasing experience. Required Skills Solid grounding in purchasing and procurement procedures, ideally within a manufacturing or regulated environment. Working knowledge of business principles, office protocol, and general operations. Comfort with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and purchasing/inventory software; ERP experience (NetSuite a plus) is a strong asset. Strong negotiation skills, backed by clear ethical standards. Excellent written and verbal communication — persuasive, professional, and clear. Sharp attention to detail with strong time‑management, prioritization, and organizational skills. Self‑motivated and equally comfortable working independently or as part of a team. Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, lift light loads, and work at a desk as needed. Preferred Skills None specified.
