Individuals who have previously worked for SMH are not eligible for the referral bonus.Required QualificationsThere Are Multiple Ways to QualifyYou only need to meet ONE of the following three requirements:Already certified? Have an active CMA or RMA certification through an accepted organization such as AAMA, NHA, NCCT, AMT, AAH, or NAHP.Have EMT license? Have a current EMT license plus at least one year of Medical Assistant or clinical healthcare experience.Already working as a Medical Assistant but not certified? Must have at least one year of Medical Assistant work experience. You may qualify without current CMA/RMA certification, but you will be required to obtain an approved CMA or RMA certification within 12 months of hire.Preferred Qualifications- Prefer one (1) year of clinical experience in an outpatient physician's office practice.- Prefer experience with electronic practice management and electronic health record programs.- Prefer the ability to demonstrate self-direction and initiative.- Prefer demonstrated knowledge of electronic practice management and electronic health records software along with skill in all Microsoft office software programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point).Mandatory EducationHigh School Diploma, GED or CertificateRequired License and CertsRequire Basic Life Support/CPR certification; or must be obtained within thirty (30) days of hire/transfer date.Preferred License and CertsAccepted certifications include: CMA (AAMA), NHA, NCCT, RMA (AMT or AAH), and NRCMA (NAHP).Work Days/Shift/Start TimeWork-Life Balance You'll AppreciateMost FPG Medical Assistant positions offer:Monday through Friday schedules8-hour shiftsOffice hours generally between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PMNo holidaysNo weekendsNorth Port Exception:FPG Internal Medicine & Pediatrics office in North Port is currently our only location with extended evening and weekend hours, including:Three evenings per week until 7:30 PMSaturdays until 12:30 PMShift differential for eligible evening and weekend hoursEmployment Screening RequirementsAs part of Sarasota Memorial Health Care System's commitment to keeping people safe, all individuals providing care to vulnerable populations are required to undergo background screening through The Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.
