Imagine a career where your expertise transforms lives — quite literally. As a Speech Language Pathologist in the dynamic community surrounding beautiful Seattle, your role transcends standard treatments for communication and swallowing disorders. Every session you lead will revive hope, rekindle self-esteem, and foster human connections, from young children mastering their first words to older adults embracing renewed autonomy.
This unique opportunity allows you to support diverse individuals and age groups in an engaging environment that marries outpatient therapy with sporadic inpatient assistance. Whether your passion lies in pediatric speech therapy, addressing adult brain injuries, or aiding seniors with cognitive challenges, you'll discover personal satisfaction and professional flexibility.
Conduct thorough evaluations for patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing a mix of standardized tools and anecdotal observations.
Design tailored treatment plans to meet both immediate and lasting communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions that emphasize language development, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing techniques.
Work in harmony with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to forge integrated care strategies.
Provide educational resources for patients and their families, empowering them to foster progress outside the therapy room.
Occasionally perform inpatient evaluations and therapy sessions to ensure continuity of care throughout each patient's journey.
Keep thorough and timely records that comply with state, federal, and institutional regulations.
Engage in lifelong learning by remaining well-informed on the latest developments in speech-language pathology through professional training and collaboration.
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet certified by ASHA.
Active state license as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
Expertise in evidence-based treatment methods for all age groups, coupled with a solid understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills for effective engagement with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to tailor therapy methods to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Strong clinical insight and innovative problem-solving capabilities.
Familiarity with electronic medical records and clinical documentation guidelines.
Competitive salary reflecting your experience level.
Flexible scheduling that supports a healthy work-life balance.
Possibility to specialize in areas like pediatrics, adult neurological rehabilitation, or geriatric therapy.
Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday remuneration.
Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans available.
Investment in your professional development through education reimbursement and ongoing training opportunities.
Supportive, cooperative work culture focused on delivering quality healthcare and lifelong learning.
A Career That Inspires Movement — And Moves You
In this position, you'll go beyond traditional speech therapy; you'll become part of a spirited mission to revive voices, strengthen communication ties, and create moments of joy through the most fundamental human connection — understanding and being understood.
You'll partner with compassionate clinicians who regard one another as family, within a setting that champions collaboration over competition. Every patient comes with a unique narrative; we'll count on you to help weave their story with care and expertise.
