Schedule Monday-Friday, Day Shift Purpose Statement/Position Summary The Assistant Controller is responsible for all areas of financial reporting as well as managing, developing and overseeing staff in various Finance/Accounting areas. Functions of this position include but not limited to, assisting in the maintenance of the general ledger; preparation and review of monthly financial statements and statistical information; ensuring integrity of internal controls; leads the annual audit and tax returns, as well as other financial reporting requirements. Manages a staff of managers and/or analysts at various levels. The position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities. The position will have contact with senior management which requires excellent interpersonal communication skills. Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience Required: 8+ years of accounting, financial, audit and reporting experience with increased responsibilities. General Accounting, Accounts Payable, and Treasury experience. Proven experience leading audits and interacting with external auditors. Healthcare industry experience. Preferred: Previous hospital experience. Education/Licensure/Certifications Required: Bachelor’s degree in accounting. Certified Public Accountant license or Candidacy. Preferred: Masters degree in Business Administration. Pay Scale Information $154,294.40-$209,826.24 CHLA values the contribution each Team Member brings to our organization. Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates who meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates who exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
