Every job function in our organization whether it's on the docks or behind the scenes in administrative roles, finance, payroll, or IT, has a significant impact on the national economy and critical supply chain operations.This Operations Manager position (on site) will be responsible for Ford export operations for PDC (Parts Distribution Center) operations and inventories. As needed Provide management support for other projects and new client startups.Essential Duties:Monitor Ford arrivals, work with the rail carriers and Ford to gage inbound workflow.Manage our Ford export team, both the homologation group and our yard crew.Ensure homologation actions are completed per Ford guidelines.Plan yard usage for arrivals and export staging.Manage FAPS' parts distribution center. Ensure that all parts are properly accounted for. Review systems and procedures used. Lead the team to meet best practices.Be prepared to take on additional roles when needed, such as new client startups or special projects.All other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Maritime Operations, Supply Chain and Logistics, Business Administration, or related discipline.An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.7+ years experience automotive logistics7 + years experience in automotive port operations.5+ years experience in parts warehouse operations.Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).Experience with parts inventory management and ordering systems.Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of terminal operations, planning and stevedore operations.Experience and proficiency with computerized operating systems, terminal operating systems, and other relevant technology.Knowledge of S.O.W. and work instructions for accessory installation of homologation projects.Knowledge of warehouse management processes, such as cycle counts, inventory accounts, and pallet racking identification systemsStrong positive leadership.Physical Working Attributes:Frequent walking, standing, bending, occasional sitting.Climb up and down stairs and equipment multiple times within a shift.Lift, push, and or pull up to 40lbsWork in changing hot and cold climates based on weather conditions.Work in an environment with moving objects and machinery.The environment may be hazardous to persons unable to see or hear fast moving heavy equipment.Ports America is an Equal Opportunity Employer encouraging diversity in the workplace.
