Key Responsibilities

• Implement individualized physical therapy treatment plans designed by the supervising Physical Therapist (PT) to help patients regain mobility and independence.
• Provide hands-on therapeutic care, including exercises, modalities, gait training, and mobility support tailored to each patient's needs.
• Monitor, document, and report patient progress and any changes in condition, ensuring all records are maintained in accordance with facility and Medicare guidelines.
• Educate patients and their caregivers on home exercise programs and safety strategies to enhance recovery and prevent future injuries.
• Engage in collaborative discussions with the healthcare team to coordinate care and modify treatment approaches based on patient feedback and progress.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment, following hospital protocols and best practices in physical therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Physical Therapist Assistant at Resurge Rehab & Therapy, you will primarily serve a diverse patient population, including those recovering from surgeries, traumatic injuries, and age-related conditions. Our focus extends to seniors and patients requiring rehabilitative support, emphasizing long-term recovery and wellness strategies.

Qualifications

• A minimum of an Associate's Degree in Physical Therapist Assistant program from an accredited institution.
• Current state licensure to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant in Virginia.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
• A strong understanding of physical therapy principles and practices.

Preferred Experience

• At least two years of experience in a clinical physical therapy setting, with a preference for those experienced in geriatric and long-term care.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
