($59,000/yr. - $65,100/yr.) Licensed Oregon : $31.02/hr. - $34.22/hr. (64,500/yr. - $71,100/yr.) The Education Services Supervisor is responsible for the development and coordination of academic programing and ensuring the completion and documentation of state and ORR assessment standards and state licensing requirements. This involves regular review and analysis of ORR policy, coordination with a multidisciplinary team of program staff, and communication with stakeholders as necessary to introduce new and improved opportunities for client services related to education and independent living skills. The position also serves as teacher providing the Flores required education services and supporting the program’s behavioral model. The Education Services Supervisor serves as the primary liaison between the LTGH program, school district staff, and community partners who collaborate to provide linguistically and developmentally appropriate educational services to the youth in care. Staff supervision includes demonstrating Sanctuary Model commitments, and direct client engagement ensures the Education Services Supervisor is active in upholding LTGH’s behavior management systems. Duties and Responsibilities: Supervise Skill Trainers and EducationAssistants Provide academic curriculum consistent with the students’ academic development, literacy and linguisticability. Curriculum development includes varying levels of English, Math and Science including English language training. Provide linguistically appropriate educationalmaterials. Provide a syllabus of curriculum covered at least once ayear. Participate in developing and maintaining an educational program which meets ORRstandards. Maintain records as required by State or ORR for classroomdocumentation. Plan and arrange fieldtrips. Developprofessionalrelationshipswithcommunityresourcestoacquirecurriculummaterialstoenhancethe learning experience forstudents. In collaboration with the Skills Trainers and Education Assistants, develop written weekly lesson plans, meet individual students’ needs, and provide applied learning activities that are active, student directed, project- based, andintegrated. Completetimesheetsandotherpersonnelandadministrativerecordsintimelyandaccuratemannerasrequired PerformsotherdutiesasassignedbyAssistantProgramDirector,ProgramDirector,andDivisionDirector. Help arrange or coordinate coverage of teachers as needed and fill in if there is no othercoverage. Is aware of Morrison Compliance Program including Compliance Officer, Compliance Standards of Conduct, and Employee Compliance Hotline. Understands Compliance Standards of Conduct and signs attestation document. Completes all assigned compliance, HIPAA, client privacy, and fraud, waste, and abuse training. Knows how to report any client privacy or fraud, waste, or abuse concerns. Demonstrate a commitment to developing a thorough knowledge and application of the Sanctuary model and other organizational policies & practices. Participate in staff development, in-services, and training related to workplace effectiveness; modelprofessional behaviors and implement improvements to business practices with awareness of their impact in a trauma- informed behavioral healthcareorganization. Provide oversight and guidance to Education Assistants and Skills Trainers as they manage youth caseloads, including the completion of biweekly individual sessions with youth, biweekly progress reports uploaded to ORR’sonlineportal,regularreassessmentofIndividualizedServicePlans,androutineupdatestoyouthCase Notesdocuments. CollaboratewithprogramEducationAssistants,schooladministrativestaffandeducatorstoensurethatyouth in care have opportunities to participate in core subject courses while receiving support for unique language access needs and literacydevelopment. Leadongoingdevelopmentofdepartmentpolicyandprocedure,guidingstaffwithupdatesonbestpracticesto appropriately address individualized needs and goals of the youth incare. Coordinate yearly educational programming for a ten-week summer curriculum that integratesexperiential learningoptionsaswellasstructuredacademicsupport,tobesubmittedforORRProjectOfficerapproval. Complete curriculum development as necessary (including varying levels of Math, Science, ESOL and career readinessoptions)tosupplementmaterialprovidedbyPPSeducatorsandtoimplementduringbreaksinthe school district’s academiccalendar. Collaborate with program staff and stakeholders on 504 special education planning for youth incare. Competencies: Develop curriculum to provide a learning environment with a student centerfocus Commitment to professionalgrowth Communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing inEnglish Interpret information, utilize critical thinking and explain concepts toothers Maintain effective working relationships with agency employees at all levels and thepublic Required Position Qualifications: Attained age 21 years or older before first day of employment in position(ORR) LicensedbytheTeacherStandardsandPracticesCommissionforassignmentasateacherORbachelor'sdegree or master's degree and Teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) /Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages certification(TESOL) Bi-lingualinEnglishandSpanishwiththeabilitytospeak/read/writeinbothlanguages,includingdocument translations Prior supervisoryexperience Experience using technology such as laptops, overhead projectors, in a schoolsetting Intermediate computerskills Preferred Position Qualifications: SpecialEducation Prior experience with adolescents in a school or mental healthsetting Understanding of other core subject areas such as physical education, science, advanced mathematics, GED preparation Other Requirements: Pass a DHS criminal historybackground. Pass a criminal history background check though Morrison and a suitability determination investigation through the U.S. Office of Personnel Management. For further informationreview: Meet agency drivingrequirements. Receive/show record of vaccinations that are in compliance with ORR’s vaccinationrequirements. Bloodborne pathogen first day of employment. Travel between programlocations. CPR/First Aid certification within 30 days of hire and keptcurrent. Complete MANDT Training, Medication Administration Training, and all other assigned trainings as required with necessary updates andreoccurrences. For positions that require driving: Hold a valid drivers’ license. Must be licensed in Oregon or Washington within 30 days ofhire Personal transportation allowing for travel within the greater Portland metropolitan area in a timelymanner. Ifdriving apersonalvehicle,mustmaintainpersonalautoliabilityinsuranceat$100,000/$300,000levels,anda driving record permitting coverage under agency auto liabilitypolicy. Working Conditions: Environment: Work is done in clinical offices, community settings, including Morrison Residential, administration buildings, public locations, and social service sites. Breaks and meals are subject to interruption. Universal Precautions and remaining alert to the environment are critical to address the potential for violent behavior, exposure to disease, biohazards, noise, and contaminants. Mental demands: Work assigned is diverse and may involve addressing new and unique circumstances. The work might be unpredictable and disrupts planned tasks, requiring flexible time management. Physical demands: Ability to remain calm and emotionally available serving youth, adults and or families who have experienced trauma. Proficient with office equipment and physical movement. Ability to perform physical interventions if needed in accordance with program and training. Physical dexterity for reaching, stooping, and repetitive wrist and hand motions.
