Accounting Specialist

Job Title: Accounting Specialist Location: Dallas, TX 75261 Type: 8-Month Contract Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Accounting Specialist to support month-end close activities, financial reporting, account reconciliations, contract compliance, and SOX controls. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting experience, advanced Excel skills, ERP system knowledge, and the ability to analyze and resolve complex accounting issues independently. This role will work closely with field operations, corporate finance, auditors, vendors, and regional business partners to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with company policies and accounting procedures. Key Responsibilities Perform month-end close activities, journal entries, account analysis, and financial reporting in accordance with company policies and GAAP standards. Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations for asset and liability accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely completion. Review executed contracts and amendments to ensure proper setup within ERP systems for accurate financial tracking and reporting. Audit customer invoicing and billing processes to ensure compliance with contractual terms and revenue recognition requirements. Maintain detailed supporting documentation for reconciliations, audits, and financial reporting purposes. Monitor and support SOX compliance controls and participate in internal control testing activities. Collaborate with field operations and cross-functional teams to resolve accounting discrepancies and contract-related issues. Prepare audit schedules, financial analysis reports, and supporting documentation for internal and external auditors. Assist management with ad hoc reporting, special projects, process improvements, and technical accounting analysis. Oversee and review opening and closing packages for business units to ensure completeness and accuracy. Develop strong working relationships with finance teams, operational leadership, vendors, and customers. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting efficiency, and workflow management. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required 2-4 years of accounting, financial reporting, or corporate finance experience Experience with ERP accounting systems; Oracle experience strongly preferred Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, formulas, and data analysis Strong understanding of GAAP, SOX compliance, financial controls, and accounting procedures Experience with account reconciliations, invoicing, auditing support, and month-end close processes Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting field accounting operations from a centralized corporate finance environment Experience communicating with external auditors, vendors, customers, and regional business teams Knowledge of contract compliance, revenue tracking, and financial systems configuration #J-18808-Ljbffr LinQ Global
