Position Summary The Production Control Specialist serves as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for our ERP platform, Global Shop Solutions (GSS), while supporting production planning, labor tracking, reporting, workflow coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role is responsible for maintaining production data integrity, supporting routing and scheduling activities, identifying inefficiencies, troubleshooting system issues, and helping ensure smooth production operations across multiple departments. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail‑oriented, technically capable, and comfortable working with systems, data, and cross‑functional teams. Key Responsibilities Production Planning & Labor Tracking Maintain and update production data within ERP systems Track labor hours and job progress against established standards Monitor work orders and production status Ensure accurate routing through production stages Identify delays, bottlenecks, and inconsistencies and communicate findings to appropriate teams Routing & Workflow Coordination Develop and maintain labor routings for manufacturing processes Support job sequencing and workflow coordination across departments Assist with production scheduling and capacity planning visibility Ensure alignment between engineering drawings, routings, and production execution Reporting & Data Management Generate reports related to labor, production status, efficiency, and operational performance Maintain data accuracy and integrity within ERP systems Support leadership with data needed for operational and strategic decisions Monitor KPIs and identify trends impacting production performance Systems Administration & Process Improvement Serve as the primary ERP system administrator for Global Shop Solutions (GSS) Troubleshoot system, workflow, and data issues Support integration and utilization of digital tools across operations Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation Assist with implementation of continuous improvement initiatives Maintain standardized workflows and documentation Required Qualifications Minimum two (2) years of experience in production control, manufacturing operations, scheduling, or operations support Experience with ERP, MRP, or production tracking systems Strong understanding of manufacturing workflows and job routing Advanced computer proficiency and comfort learning new systems Ability to analyze data and generate meaningful reports Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to communicate effectively across multiple departments Problem‑solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement Preferred Qualifications Experience with ERP systems – Global Shop Solutions (GSS) Experience in steel manufacturing, fabrication, or pre‑engineered metal building (PEMB) operations Experience with production scheduling or capacity planning Knowledge of inventory, materials management, or supply chain processes Exposure to Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement methodologies Familiarity with ISO 9001 or structured quality systems Lean Methodologies Experience with automation tools, Excel macros, SQL, Power BI, Python, or similar technologies Interest in leveraging AI and automation to improve business processes What Success Looks Like Accurate production data and routing information Improved visibility into production status and workflow Reduced data errors and rework Timely and accurate operational reporting Increased efficiency through process and system improvements Effective support of production, engineering, and leadership teams If you're a systems‑minded problem solver who enjoys improving operations, supporting manufacturing teams, and driving process efficiency, we'd like to hear from you. #J-18808-Ljbffr BC Steel Buildings
