Financial Analyst

A well established nonprofit is looking for a Financial Analyst to join a small, experienced finance team on California's Central Coast. This is a broad, high visibility role. You'll work across FP&A, external audit, debt and lease accounting, compliance filings, and board level financial presentations. What you'll be doing You’ll report to a Controller and take ownership across a wide range of responsibilities, including: Monitoring and analyzing earned revenue, operating expenses, and capital project activity across the organization Preparing quarterly financial statements and supporting the annual external audit Recording and reconciling bond and debt-related transactions, including compliance reporting Maintaining lease accounting entries in line with applicable accounting standards Preparing complex financial analyses, dashboards, and board presentation materials Supporting the annual budget process and partnering with department leaders on budget accountability Developing financial models for new programs and capital initiatives Monitoring and reporting on cash flow and reserve allocations What we're looking for Essential: Strong working knowledge of GAAP and GASB, particularly in a governmental or nonprofit context Experience in public sector, or nonprofit finance Advanced Excel skills and comfort with ERP systems, reporting tools, and data queries Solid written and verbal communication Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines without losing attention to detail A plus: Familiarity with PeopleSoft Financials or a comparable enterprise system (Banner, Workday, Oracle) Experience with bond/debt accounting or lease accounting under GASB 87 Prior involvement in Form 990 preparation or federal financial survey filings Hoxton Circle is an equal opportunity employer.
