Lead Multi-Modality Technologist

Job Description Summary The Multi-Modality Lead Tech reports to the manager of CT and assists with daily operations of the BBEMC radiology department. The technologist monitors radiology staff, prioritizes patient workload, and provides guidance and accountability to team members. They are expected to deliver quality imaging and patient care in at least two modalities – CT and X‑ray. The technologist explains procedures to patients and ensures competency. Images are produced for interpretation and requested by licensed practitioners. Responsibilities Monitor and manage BBEMC radiology staff; prioritize patient workflow; provide guidance and accountability; fully function in all department areas; guarantee quality imaging and patient care across CT and X‑ray modalities; effectively explain procedures to patients; produce diagnostic images; maintain compliance with departmental and regulatory standards. Qualifications Graduate from an accredited school of radiologic technology. Minimum one year of radiologic experience. Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and licensed by the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association. Certified in CT. CPR or BLS certification. Able to produce high‑quality special imaging with minimal supervision. Team‑oriented and familiar with age‑specific criteria. Must obtain Advanced Modality registration within 1 year of hire. Ability to lift/lower objects 50 lbs. from/to floor from/to 36 inches unassisted (infrequent). Ability to lift from 36” to overhead 25 lbs. (infrequent). Ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force (frequent). Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes (continuous). Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance (continuous). Ability to match or discriminate between colors (continuous). Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception (continuous). Good peripheral vision capabilities (continuous). Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction (continuous). Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements (continuous).
