This position combines technical expertise with attention to detail, focusing on Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) and other reconditioning tasks for CarMax used, new, and customer vehicles. You’ll also support related roles such as Cosmetic Reconditioning Associate II and Flow Inventory Associate II when needed. Whether you’re advancing your career or growing your skillset, we are here to drive you forward.Role ResponsibilitiesPerform body repairs, including masking, sanding, and grinding to restore vehicle surfacesApply primer and refinish paint, ensuring finishes and defect correctionsRemove and replace parts as needed for cosmetic and structural integrityRepair plastic and substrates to meet CarMax quality standardsMaintain and repair specialized equipment while ensuring proper cleaning and functionalityUphold CarMax Paint Standards and workplace organization under CarMax 5S principles and deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external customersFollow CarMax Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) requirements and maintain a clean and orderly work area.Required QualificationsCompletion of New Associate Orientation Training – OperationsAccountability to Associate 1 Competency Model and CarMax timekeeping systems training for Hourly AssociatesAbility to meet performance standards for Cosmetic Reconditioning Associate II, Flow Inventory Associate II, and Sr. Reconditioning Associate rolesSuccessful completion of workstation certifications across all relevant reconditioning areasStrong ability to read, interpret, and record data accurately and perform multiple duties in a fast-paced, high-energy environmentPhysical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varied conditions, including outdoor environmentsRequired to use CarMax-provided respiratory protection.
