Details Med/Surg Tele unit in a Level 3 Trauma hospital with 241 licensed beds 24-bed unit with an average daily census of 24 Fast-paced observation unit caring for patients with cardiac, respiratory, and neuro diagnoses RN to patient ratio of 1:5-6 with potential surge ratios up to 1:7-8 CNA to patient ratio of 1:12 12-hour night shift schedule, 1900-0700, 36 hours per week Every other weekend rotation required Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Massimo monitors in all rooms Remote telemetry monitoring supported by a dedicated tele tech On-site support includes charge nurse, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, 24/7 respiratory therapy, and 24/7 intensivist coverage Hospitalist available on-site during day shift and virtually during evenings/overnight Low census call possible, with call-back required up to 3am for nights and 3pm for days Floating required within Region 3 (Cleveland, Kings Mountain, Lincoln, and Central Division facilities including CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH) as needed and within scope of practice Requirements Active RN license (NC or Compact) required BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Minimum 18 months of Med/Surg Tele RN experience required At least 6 months of Epic EMR experience required Cardiac rhythm interpretation skills required Experience with non-titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem/Amiodarone) required General medical/surgical skillset required, including care of patients with tubes/drains, IV starts, blood product administration, and wound care/dressing changes Minimum of one professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN required Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration Additional Information Provide direct patient care within a fast-paced Med/Surg Tele unit at a certified Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center First-time travelers are welcome to apply Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate Previous employees who worked a permanent position at this health system must have been separated for at least one year before applying Holiday coverage required for 75% of holidays Up to 6 days of requested time off may be approved, excluding holidays, with any missed contracted hours added to the end of the assignment Facility and unit orientation includes New Employee Orientation (NEO) and 2 days of departmental orientation Scrub color required is navy Free parking available on-site American Traveler Job ID P-722434.
