Machinist Operator

The Machinist Operator role involves operating CNC Haas Mills, Robo drills, and Fanuc controls. You will be responsible for setting up 3-axis CNC machines, ensuring the correct program is running without error for the next production run, and managing machine changeovers. Additional duties include inserting and adjusting fixtures, performing tool touch-offs, loading parts, and using wrenches to bolt down fixtures into t-plates. Experience in a manufacturing environment with CNC machine operation is essential.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC Haas Mills, Robo drills, and Fanuc controls.
• Set up 3-axis CNC machines for production runs.
• Manage machine changeovers and ensure correct program execution.
• Insert and adjust fixtures and perform tool touch-offs.
• Load parts and use wrenches to secure fixtures to t-plates.
• Utilize calibrated precision measuring instruments such as calipers, depth gages, thread gages, and pin gages.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in CNC mill operation and vertical milling machine.
• Experience in machine operation and CNC setup, particularly with 3-axis machines.
• Knowledge of Haas Mills and lean manufacturing principles.
• Skill in inspection and dimensional inspection.
• Familiarity with lean six sigma methodologies.
• Ability to read and write at a High School level or equivalent.
• Basic math skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• One year of experience in machine operation with a HAAS CNC preferred or relevant experience.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.25 - $30.25/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
