Junior Accountant

Our client, a well-established finance firm based in New York City, is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join their growing accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional to gain hands-on experience across multiple accounting functions in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable (AP) transactions, including invoice review, coding, and payment processing
• Manage accounts receivable (AR), including invoicing, collections, and cash application
• Assist with payroll processing and related reconciliations
• Review and process employee expense reports in accordance with company policies
• Prepare monthly bank and account reconciliations
• Maintain and update general ledger accounts
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 1-4 years of accounting experience preferred
• Understanding of general accounting principles and procedures
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and reconciliations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems
