Junior Embryologist Full Time • Norfolk, VA, US Salary: $65,000.00 Annually Overview CNY Fertility is a renowned fertility center offering advanced treatments like IVF, IUI, and egg freezing. With a patient-centered approach and cutting-edge technology, we support individuals and couples on their journey to parenthood. Our Junior Embryologist will be responsible for daily activities in the IVF laboratory, including QA/QC. Responsibilities Daily quality control, media preparation and dish preparation Microscope and pipettor use Use of other lab equipment to complete procedures: balance, pH meter, CO₂ monitor, labeler, etc. Oocyte retrieval and denuding of oocytes Embryo and oocyte thawing/embryo and oocyte freezing Fertilization checks and embryo transfers ICSI and conventional fertilization techniques Use eIVF for data entry Schedule procedures, complete tasks, and navigate patient charts Understand cryopreservation and storage of specimens Begin patient communication and patient identification Assist in cleaning and stocking the laboratory Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in chemical, biological, clinical, medical or reproductive laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution. Skill in reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees. Mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, rates, ratios, percentages, and interpretation of bar graphs. Reasoning: solve practical problems and interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to lift 25 lbs. Adequate vision or corrective lenses for sample identification. Ability to multitask in fast-paced environments. Physical Demands & Environment Work environment: moderate noise level. Requires weekend and holiday rotation. Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; occasionally required to sit.
