Waubonsee Community College's Business andSocial Science Division is currently seeking an adjunct instructor toteach courses in the college's Political Science program. The program'scurriculum offers an introduction to the structure and organization of ourcountry's national political institutions and processes. Classes deconstructand discuss the concepts, theories and methods of government and public policy,helping students find their voice while developing skills in research, writingand presentation.

Adjunct faculty members are responsible fordelivering curriculum, providing instruction, and performing student learningassessment. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability toeffectively use instructional and classroom technology to enhance teaching andlearning. Courses at Waubonsee Community College may be offered atvarious campus locations and in delivery modes including, but not limited to,face-to-face, asynchronous online, synchronous online, hybrid, and flex.

Essential functions of this positioninclude, but are not limited to:
Designing syllabi, lessons, activities, assignments, and assessments to meetthe established course description, as well as program, course, and collegelearning outcomes and/or objectives while addressing each student's needs asdiverse learners.

Meeting all college deadlines for submission of attendance, grades and datacollection for assessment of student learning.
Incorporating learning-centered principles andconcepts while motivating students to actively participate in their educationalexperiences.

Integrating instructional and classroom technology (if applicable)appropriately and effectively to deliver and enhance teaching and learning.

Working collaboratively with professional colleagues to serve the needs ofstudents and the community.

Modeling professionalism with excellent communication, presentation, andinterpersonal skills.

Minimum Experience

Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in Political Sciencepreferred or master's degree in related field and 18 graduate credit hoursin political science coursework.

Preferred Experience
Teaching Political Science, or a related field, at a Community College orVocational/Technical institution.

Teaching traditionally underserved populations.

Incorporating technology and multimedia applications into teaching and learningprocess.

Teaching in multiple instructional modalities.

Utilizing Learning Management Systems.
