What You'll Do:

• Provide specialized oncology nursing care to adult and geriatric patients
• Administer chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, and manage oncologic emergencies
• Monitor patients for cytokine release syndrome and manage insulin/heparin drips
• Follow infection prevention protocols and prioritize patient safety to prevent falls
• Collaborate with healthcare team to develop and update patient care plans
• Document patient care accurately in electronic health records (EPIC)
• Float within scope of practice as needed across different units

What You Need:

• Valid Ohio RN license and current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
• At least 2 years of acute care nursing experience, including a minimum of 1 year in PCU or similar settings
• Strong understanding of oncology procedures and patient care protocols
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

About the Assignment:

This assignment takes place in a busy surgical oncology unit caring for patients with various cancer diagnoses, including breast, thyroid, melanoma, hepatobiliary, colorectal, and reconstructive surgery cases. The team handles complex procedures such as chemotherapy, blood transfusions, and emergency interventions, with a focus on infection control and patient safety. Unit staffing aims for a 1:4 ratio, ensuring quality care in a fast-paced environment.
