Kforce has a client that is seeking a Buyer in Saint Louis, MO.Summary:This position will play a key role in supporting capital projects and strategic sourcing initiatives by procuring equipment, materials, and services that drive operational success. The ideal candidate will have experience sourcing industrial capital equipment and services, managing supplier relationships, and delivering cost savings through strategic procurement practices.This role partners closely with Operations, Engineering, Safety, Finance, and Procurement teams to support projects from planning through execution while ensuring alignment with procurement strategies and supplier programs.Key Responsibilities:

• Support capital projects throughout the full project lifecycle, including planning, procurement, execution, and closeout
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for capital equipment, materials, and services
• Lead supplier negotiations to achieve cost savings and maximize value
• Prepare, evaluate, and analyze bids while making supplier recommendations
• Source engineering services, construction services, equipment, and related materials
• Manage supplier relationships, monitor performance, and track savings initiatives
• Ensure adherence to procurement policies, preferred supplier programs, and sourcing strategies
• Communicate procurement initiatives and project updates to stakeholders across the business
• Support plant purchasing teams and collaborate with cross-functional partners to resolve procurement challenges
• Provide expertise in assigned spend categories and stay current on market trends and supplier capabilities
• Participate in global sourcing initiatives and strategic procurement programs as needed

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Business, or a related field
• Experience sourcing industrial capital equipment and services (CAPEX)
• Strong procurement and strategic sourcing background
• Experience negotiating supplier agreements and managing vendor relationships
• Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, and Procurement teams

Technical Requirements:

• Experience with Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes
• Strong SAP experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience evaluating bids and supplier performance metrics

Nice to Have:

• Engineering or technical background
• Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, or production environments
• Exposure to global sourcing initiatives
• Previous experience supporting large capital project procurement efforts

Ideal Candidate:We are looking for someone who understands industrial procurement, can build strong supplier relationships, and knows how to drive value through strategic sourcing and negotiation. The right person will be comfortable partnering with both business and technical stakeholders while supporting high-impact capital projects from start to finish.

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.


We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
