Accounting ManagerThe Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing core general ledger, month end close, inventory, and accounts payable/receivable operations, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial close. This role manages day-to-day accounting operations of U.S. and Canada, drives process improvements and internal controls, and partners closely with senior finance leadership (local and global) on close activities, audits, and ad hoc financial analysis.The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with a proactive, process-oriented mindset and experience managing month-end close from start to finish.Preferred backgrounds include:LuxuryRetailConsumer productsAny organization with a significant inventory componentKey qualifications:Proven process management experienceStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to influence and partner with colleagues and leadershipExperience managing inventory-related financial operationsGeneral Ledger, Close & Financial ReportingPerform general ledger activities including journal entries, account maintenance, and transaction analysis, ensuring proper coding, classification, and recording of financial transactions.Execute assigned components of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules, meeting established deadlines.Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reporting deliverables; support preparation of financial reports and analysis for management.Perform monthly/quarterly balance sheet reconciliations and intercompany reconciliations, investigating and resolving variances.Support statutory audit coordination, preparing required schedules and documentation in line with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.Inventory & Corporate/Sales Tax AccountingManage and oversee inventory accounting, including reconciliations, reserves, aging, and excess and obsolescence analysis.Analyze inventory trends and variances, ensuring inventory accounting complies with applicable accounting standards and company policies.Manage sales/corp tax filings and the third-party processor relationship to ensure all filings are processed timely and accurately.Accounts Payable/Receivable & TreasuryOversee the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Treasury function, including invoice and payment processing, vendor relationships, payment approvals, and AP aging review.Coordinate with warehouse partners, vendors, and cross-functional teams to resolve billing, invoicing, and reporting discrepancies.Team Leadership & Process ImprovementSupervise, train, and develop staff, fostering a collaborative and accountable team environment; review work prepared by team members and assist in prioritizing workloads.Support employee development, cross-training, documentation, and process improvement initiatives.Identify and implement process improvements, system enhancements, and automation to strengthen internal controls, efficiency, and accuracy.Assist in developing accounting policies and procedures and support system implementations and upgrades.Cross-Functional & Ad Hoc SupportWork closely with the Finance Director to support month-end and year-end close, including preparation of supporting schedules and financial statement analysis.Participate in cross-functional meetings to support business initiatives and financial reporting needs.Maintain strong internal controls and oversee intercompany reconciliationsPrepare ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as requested by U.S. Finance Director/Global Finance teamAssist with special projects, financial analysis, and reporting as needed; perform other duties as assigned based on business needs.What You BringMust have bachelor's degree in accounting (Progress toward MBA/CPA/CMA a plus)5-8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including managing general ledger, month-end close processes, and accounts receivable/payable; prior supervisory experience required.Working knowledge of US GAAP, with experience in inventory related and/or CPG accounting environments preferred.Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.Advanced Excel skills and strong financial systems/ERP expertise, D365 a plusExcellent communication and interpersonal abilities.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.Proactive, adaptable, and solutions-oriented mindset.Experience managing bank reconciliations requiredExperience with Balance Sheet reconciliations requiredAdvanced Excel skills requiredExperience managing treasury process and banking relationships preferredWhat We OfferCompetitive salary based on experience- $95k-$110k10% Annual bonusHybrid schedule: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote.
