Concentra On-Site Occupational Medicine / Primary Care Physician Assistant Schedule: Monday - Friday CHOOSE: 6 AM - 2 PM, 9 AM - 5 PM, or 4 10-hour shifts Client: Frito-Lay Location: Aberdeen, MD Competitive Base Salary PLUS Benefits AND $5K Sign-on Bonus! We are seeking a highly experienced and mission-driven Physician Assistant to join our team at our client's on-site Occupational Medicine practice. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience as a PA in an urgent care/occupational medicine setting and will be DOT-certified. Scope of care includes Occupational Medicine: work-related injuries and follow-up care, non-injury physicals, and ancillary services; Personal Health Services: acute personal healthcare and chronic condition counseling; and Wellness. The On-site Physician Assistant works with the On-site Leadership Team at the assigned on-site clinic, and under the direction of the Supervising physician or Director of Medical Operations, to implement the location’s medical policies, procedures, and programs, ensuring the delivery of efficient, responsible, and accountable healthcare of the highest quality to our client's employees (our patients) in accordance with Concentra's Best in Class practice. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Spends 100% of time in the onsite clinic providing direct patient care, leading by example, and creating an exceptional patient experience. Ensures day-to-day execution of Concentra's clinical model collaborating with members of the healthcare team to drive optimal clinical outcomes. Accountable for monitoring, understanding, and effecting key onsite clinic metrics that relate to quality outcomes. Occupational Medicine - timely return to work measures after an injury on the job, case duration, lost time, work duty status, reduction in work-related illnesses and improved functional capacity. Advanced Primary Care - chronic condition management, gaps in care, preventive health and age-appropriate screenings, vaccinations, SDOH, wellness initiatives, clinic utilization and patient satisfaction. Provides direct patient care through compilation of the medical history, conduction of the physical exam, diagnosis, and the development of appropriate treatment plans. Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests. Maintains timely, accurate and detailed patient records and paperwork. Interprets diagnostic test results for deviations from normal. May perform procedures such as injections, suturing, wound care, and managing infection. Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens and health maintenance. Listens to and understands internal and external client needs. Assists in the development, implementation and revision of policies affecting medical practice judgment and quality of clinical care. Assists in the development and presentation of education and instructional programs. Provides excellent and compassionate customer service to all patients, clients and peers while incorporating Orange Book values. Education/Credentials Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree Major: Degree must be from an accredited college or university. Bachelors’ degree in related health field from an accredited college or university Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program) Certifications and/or Licenses: Passed the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (PANCE) Current licensed physician assistant in the state where employed and in accordance with state laws of practice Must maintain work state physician assistant licensure throughout the course of employment Experience in lieu of required education is acceptable: No Continuing education is required to maintain license and to perform job: Yes Job-Related Experience Customarily has at least the following experience: 3 years Customarily has at least three years of demonstrated experience in urgent care, family practice or an emergency setting Job-Related Skills/Competencies Concentra Core Competencies of Service Mentality, Attention to Detail, Sense of Urgency, Initiative and Flexibility Ability to make decisions or solve problems by using logic to identify key facts, explore alternatives, and propose quality solutions Outstanding customer service skills as well as the ability to deal with people in a manner which shows tact and professionalism The ability to properly handle sensitive and confidential information (including HIPAA and PHI) in accordance with federal and state laws and company policies Demonstrated knowledge of occupational medicine requirements (state specific) Demonstrated working knowledge of clinical operations Knowledge of laws and regulations that govern delivery of rehabilitation services Knowledge of worker’s compensation and clinical procedures and all processes involved in the delivery of quality care.
