Summary The Support Services Specialist position is in the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts (AO), Department of Administrative Services, Facilities and Security Office (FSO), AO Administrative Services Division. FSO manages, oversees, and supports security, emergency preparedness, and space and facilities programs for the AO, courts, and other Judiciary offices. FSO also provides administrative services within the Thurgood Marshall Federal Judiciary Building. Responsibilities The Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts, Department of Administrative Services, Facilities and Security Office (FSO), AO Administrative Services Division (ADM) is seeking a self-motivated, experienced Support Services Specialist to join its team. The Support Services Specialist drives high-level government officials and provides general administrative support in the areas of facilities management in the Thurgood Marshal Federal Judiciary Building (TMFJB). The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills, interpersonal, organizational, and the ability to provide excellent customer service. The duties of this position include, but are not limited to: Serving as a driver for the AO Director, judges, and high-ranking officials. Monitoring, receiving, and routing all building service requests submitted via the ADM mailbox or telephone. Performing routine quality assurance on building service requests. Providing general assistance for the TMFJB parking program. Providing general assistance with meeting room setup. All new AO employees will be required to complete an FBI fingerprint-based national criminal database and records check and pass a public trust suitability check. New employees to the AO will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. You will be required to serve a trial period if selected for a first-time appointment to the Federal government, transferring from another Federal agency, or serving as a first-time supervisor. Failure to successfully complete the trial period may result in termination of employment. If appointed to a temporary position, management may have the discretion of converting the position to permanent depending upon funding and staffing allocation. Qualifications Applicants must have demonstrated experience as listed below. This requirement is according to the AO Classification, Compensation, and Recruitment Systems which include interpretive guidance and reference to the OPM Operating Manual for Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions. Specialized Experience: Applicants must have at least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience which is in or directly related to the line of work of this position. Specialized experience is demonstrated experience providing building services administrative support; and reviewing communications, calendars, and arranging meetings.
