In this remote role, you will enjoy the flexibility of telehealth services from the comfort of your home in Stockton, California. Our work schedule typically runs from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts required based on patient needs. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments that take into account the unique challenges and changes associated with aging.

• Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs, incorporating cognitive, physical, and social factors.

• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including both individual and family therapy sessions, to address diverse psychiatric conditions.

• Collaborate with geriatric psychiatrists and multidisciplinary teams to ensure an integrated approach to patient care.

• Utilize telehealth platforms to offer crisis intervention and mental health support to elderly patients in need.

• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and connect them to relevant community resources.

• Document patient progress meticulously to comply with ethical standards and organizational policies.

• Participate in case consultations and team meetings to share insights and improve shared practices in geriatric care.

• Stay abreast of the latest research and developments in geriatric psychiatry to enhance your therapeutic techniques.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on elderly patients facing a range of mental health challenges, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, and adjustment disorders. The nature of this role emphasizes the need for a counselor who can navigate the complexities of aging and its psychological impacts compassionately and effectively.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A current and valid license as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in California.
\n
• Demonstrated ability to build rapport and foster trust with elderly clients and their families, ensuring a patient-centered approach.

• Strong understanding of geriatric mental health disorders and effective treatments for older adults.

• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and various computer applications to document patient care.

Preferred Experience\n

• At least two years of post-licensure experience in mental health therapy, ideally with a focus on geriatric clients.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The position offers a competitive salary range of USD 115,000 – 130,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
