Executive Chef

We are seeking an accomplished Executive Chef to lead the culinary vision and daily operations of our signature fine dining restaurant within an ultra-luxury resort on the West Coast of Florida. This role requires a dynamic culinary leader with a passion for refined cuisine, exceptional guest experiences, and innovative menu development. The Executive Chef will oversee all aspects of the restaurant’s culinary program, ensuring the highest standards of quality, creativity, and execution while delivering an experience aligned with Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five Diamond expectations. The ideal candidate possesses extensive fine dining experience, a strong background in luxury hospitality, and expertise in coastal cuisine, premium seafood, and seasonally driven menus. Key Responsibilities Culinary Vision & Menu Development Develop and execute a distinctive culinary concept that reflects the resort’s luxury positioning and the unique character of the Resort. Showcase premium seafood, locally sourced ingredients, and innovative culinary techniques Collaborate with the Sommelier and beverage team to create exceptional wine pairing experiences Kitchen Operations & Quality Assurance Oversee all culinary operations for the fine dining restaurant, including production, purchasing, inventory, and quality control Ensure consistency, presentation, and execution meet ultra-luxury standards Maintain standardized recipes, plating guides, and operating procedures Monitor kitchen workflows to ensure seamless service during peak periods Leadership & Team Development Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing culinary team Foster a culture of creativity, accountability, and continuous improvement Provide ongoing coaching, training, and performance management Support succession planning and career development initiatives Maintain responsibility for food cost, labor management, and departmental budgets Analyze financial performance and implement strategies to maximize profitability Build strong relationships with vendors and local purveyors Ensure inventory controls and waste reduction initiatives are in place Guest Experience & Brand Standards Engage with guests and oversee VIP dining experiences Partner with resort leadership to curate exclusive culinary events and programming Monitor guest feedback and implement continuous improvement strategies Ensure compliance with Forbes standards and all resort brand expectations Compliance & Safety Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment Oversee equipment maintenance and workplace safety programs Required Qualifications 7–10+ years of progressive culinary leadership experience, including experience as an Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef in fine dining environments Proven experience in luxury hotels, resorts, Michelin-recognized restaurants, or Forbes-rated properties Expertise in seafood-driven cuisine, contemporary techniques, and elevated tasting menus Strong financial acumen with experience managing food cost, labor, and budgets Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing culinary teams Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills Preferred Qualifications Experience in coastal, island, or destination resort markets Background in Michelin-starred or James Beard-recognized restaurants Culinary degree from an accredited institution Knowledge of sustainable sourcing and relationships with regional purveyors Experience collaborating with sommeliers and leading wine-focused dining experiences Performance-based bonus program Paid time off and holidays Relocation assistance Employee dining and resort privileges Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate is an innovative and inspiring culinary leader who thrives in an ultra-luxury environment and understands the nuances of destination dining.
