Job Title: Intensive Care / Coronary Nurse (ICU) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care / Coronary Nurse (ICU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 3 years License: Current nursing license Certifications: Critical care nursing Must-Have: - Initiation, titration, and management of vasopressors, thrombolytics, antihypertensives, antidiabetics, and sedation - Ventilator management - Hemodynamic monitoring - Telemetry monitoring and interpretation - Sepsis management - Central line management - Arterial line management - Chest tube management - Blood administration Description: This six-bed unit provides comprehensive nursing care for post-surgical patients. Patients include those recovering from cardiac catheterizations, respiratory failure, sepsis, DKA, AKI, and unstable arrhythmias. The nurse-to-patient ratio is critical care 2:1, step down 4:1, and standard 6:1. The nurse may be required to float to Med/Surg, Tele, Step-Down, or Observation floors. Critical care experience is essential for this role. Responsibilities include management of medication infusion pumps, bedside cardiac monitors, mechanical ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula. A bladder scanner is also included in the equipment used. Compliance with flu vaccination is mandatory with no exceptions. Requests for time off are limited to a maximum of three days per contract. The facility has the discretion to cancel up to three shifts during the assignment. Holiday coverage is required.
