This role facilitates Agile ceremonies, promotes team collaboration, and helps ensure work is prioritized and aligned with business value.They also remove impediments, foster a culture of transparency and trust, and empower teams to become self-organized and high-performing. This position partners closely with Product Owners and stakeholders to support successful delivery, improve team maturity, and enhance Agile effectiveness across the organization.In this role you will:Guiding and coaching the Scrum Teams and organization on how to apply agile values and principles, and use the Scrum Framework to delight customersAssessing the Scrum maturity of the team and organization and coaching the team to higher levels of maturityProtect the team from outside influences and remove impedimentsBuilding a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on healing and problem solvingFacilitating getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the workAssisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating informationSupporting and educating the Product Owner, especially with respect to refining (aka grooming) and managing the product backlogWorking closely with the Product Owner to ensure product backlog is visible and prioritized towards business valueFacilitating various Scrum and/or Kanban activities such as: Daily Scrum, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint RetrospectivesEmpowering the team to be self-organizedQualificationsWhat makes You an ideal candidate?Must exhibit expert knowledge of agile frameworks including Scrum and KanbanProfessional Scrum Master and advanced certification and at least 5 years of agile experience.Prefer proficient in the use of Agile delivery tools such as TFS, Jira and Azure DevOps.Demonstrated evidence of continuous learning mindset Exceptional coaching and mentoring skills at the team and management levelsAbility to teach and train on Agile, Scrum, Kanban at a level accessible to beginners with the ability to deep dive for advanced topicsA change agent; progressively challenging the team and organization to continuously improveExcellent understanding of product and sprint backlog tracking, burn down metrics, and velocityStrong negotiation, leadership, and written and verbal communication skillsStrong knowledge, skills, and ability working in a collaborative team environmentHigh maturity of diplomacy and ability to see and rationalize multiple points of viewExcellent people skills, with an ability to partner with a diverse leadership teamServant leader who Supports the development team, the product owner, and the organizationHigh Emotional Intelligence (self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills)Ability to understand GM Financials business; apply knowledge and critical thinking skills in day-to-day problems and solutions.Ability to provide leadership through influence, inspiration, collaboration and teamwork.Ability to listen and communicate effectively with others both verbally and in writing.Ability to demonstrate integrity while successfully managing work demands and pressure.Additional Knowledge and SkillsWorking effectively within an AI enabled environment:Ability to use AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to support daily workSkills in evaluating AI outputs for accuracy, compliance, and biasExperience integrating AI into workflows to improve efficiency or insightsFamiliarity with AI assisted research, summarization, and content generationUnderstanding of responsible AI use, including ethics and data protectionWork Experience and Education4-6 years leading Agile teams as a Scrum Master ReqHigh School Diploma or equivalent requiredBachelor's Degree in related field or additional equivalent workScrum Master Certification CSM, PSM I, PMI-ACP ReqAdvanced Scrum Master Certification: PSM II (Scrum.org) or A-CSM (Scrum Alliance) PrefPSM III, CSP-SM strongly Pref Subject to stressful situationsLimited travel may be required to support business needsPossibility of working long hoursWhat We OfferGenerous benefits package available on day one to include: 401K matching, bonding leave for new parents (12 weeks, 100% paid), tuition assistance, training, GM employee auto discount, community service pay and nine company holidays.Our CultureOur team members define and shape our culture.
