Post Partum Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated Post Partum Registered Nurse (RN) for a night shift position in a Mother Baby unit. This role involves providing high-quality care for patients during the post-operative recovery period after childbirth.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to post-partum patients, managing both vaginal and cesarean delivery cases.
• Assess patient conditions and administer medications as prescribed.
• Educate mothers on infant care, breastfeeding support, and recovery post-delivery.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
• Perform clinical documentation accurately using the Cerner EMR system.
• Maintain a safe and hygienic environment for patients and newborns.

Shift Information

• Scheduled for 36 hours per week, with night shifts from 1900 to 0730.
• Required to work four weekend shifts per month (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday count as weekends).
• Potential to float to sister facilities as needed.
• Holidays may be required based on departmental needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience in Post Partum or related specialty.
• BLS Certification and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required.
• Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam and a simulation lab assessment on the first day of orientation.
• Candidates must have recent experience within the past 6 months.

• Unit Type: Mother Baby (Post Partum)
• Bed Capacity: 28
• Patient Ratios: 3 couplets to 1 nurse
• House SWAT available to assist with IV needs as necessary.

The unit cares for a variety of diagnoses, including:

• Pre-Eclampsia
• Diabetes
• Hypertension
• Stable Post Hemorrhage
